Innovation in Water & Wastewater Infrastructure
An innovative project example is Provenance’s solution for the City of Lubbock’s First Fusible PVC Force Main at Lift Station No. 31. Faced with hydraulic changes, increasing capital costs, and area congestion, the Provenance Team designed a trenchless solution for Lubbock’s Lift Station No. 31 – the City’s second-largest list station and one that Provenance’s Founder, Kent Riker, worked on 18 years ago while working for the City.
The project included:
- Route study to evaluate four alternatives, including rehabilitation of existing 12-inch cast-iron force main
- Total of 4,475 linear feet of 14-inch new fusible PVC force main
- Fusible PVC installed via trenchless method was bid against bell and spigot installed via an open cut to evaluate the best value for the owner
