Water Supply Master Plan

City of Stephenville

Project Details

The City of Stephenville selected Provenance Engineering to provide design, bid and construction phase services for a new water supply system. As part of the overall program, a water supply study, including a proof-of-concept study for the water management strategy of Aquifer Storage and Recovery (ASR) or Aquifer Recharge (AR) was performed.

  • Water Supply Master Plan

Challenges

The growth of The City required expanding water supply to effectively keep pace with the additional capacity needs. The City wanted to investigate the viability of improving resiliency and redundancy of their water supply.

Solutions

Provenance Engineering identified a promising opportunity by capturing unutilized water supplies through “banking” excess surface water using ASR and evaluated water reuse capture through AR.  Multiple reuse options were evaluated, and the study determined this approach to be the most viable and cost-effective long-term solution for enhancing The City’s water supply.
