Provenance Engineering was selected to design and provide bid and construction phase services for the replacement of 8,600 linear feet of existing waterlines with 8-inch to 12-inch PVC pipes and 1,645 linear feet of damaged sewer lines with 8-inch PVC pipes. This project focuses on improving the reliability and capacity of Fort Worth’s water distribution and wastewater collection systems in a densely populated residential area, which includes schools and places of worship.
Challenges
Key challenges include minimizing disruption in a busy residential neighborhood, ensuring continuous access and service to schools and places of worship, and addressing hydraulic changes resulting from increased pipe diameter to maintain system efficiency and reliability.
Solutions
Provenance Engineering implemented trenchless technology to enable a non-invasive construction process, minimizing disruption to traffic and residents while maintaining uninterrupted water and sewer services. This approach also reduced project costs and shortened the timeline by eliminating extensive excavation and restoration requirements.
