Provenance Engineering was selected to provide design, bid, and construction management services for a new raw water pump station and 24-inch transmission main. The project scope included evaluating options to connect to the USACE Outlet Works structure, conducting a site study for a 12-MGD raw water pump station, and performing a route study for raw and potable water lines through USACE property.

PROJECT COMPONENTS:
  • 12- MGD Raw Water Pump Station
  • 5,720 LF of 24-inch Transmission Pipeline with 1,190-LF of Trenchless
  • 2,400 LF of New 8-inch Water Line with 800-LF of Trenchless
  • Zebra Mussel Control and Removal Systems
  • Raw Water Pipeline Pigging Systems
  • Micro-Hydro Generator
  • New Water Treatment Chemical Mixing System
  • Filter Backwash Recycle System

Challenges

Designing rehabilitation options for a 70-year-old USACE suction pipeline and a 50-year-old raw water system while adhering to a newly established 500-ft buffer zone around Lake Grapevine Dam. Additional challenges included addressing zebra mussel formation in the raw water system and routing pipelines through environmentally sensitive areas on USACE property.
