Condition Assessment – Phase 1 Asset Management

City of Grapevine

Project Details

The City of Grapevine selected Provenance Engineering to conduct a comprehensive condition assessment of approximately $250M in water system assets. This included 31 lift stations (with over 20 assets assessed at each), two raw water pump stations, two raw water lines, a water treatment plant, a wastewater treatment plant, a high-service pump station, two booster pump stations, and four elevated storage tanks.

Project Components:
  • Wastewater Treatment Plant
  • Water Treatment Plant
  • Five Pump Station Assessments
  • Four Elevated Storage Tanks
  • Six Ground Storage Tanks
  • 31 Lift Stations

Challenges

The primary challenge was evaluating over 1,000 assets within a tight 9-month timeframe while ensuring the accuracy and comprehensiveness of the assessment.

Solutions

Provenance Engineering successfully completed the condition assessment on schedule, organizing the findings into a detailed report for the City. Using the assessment data and the City’s priorities, Provenance developed a $50M, 5-year Capital Improvements Plan (CIP). This condition assessment serves as the foundation for Grapevine’s future Asset Management Program. Provenance’s collaborative approach and data-driven methodology enabled the delivery of a strategic, actionable plan tailored to the City’s needs.
